Lesson 4 | Settings for your landing pages

This lesson covers how to adjust your landing page settings.

Settings

To edit your page settings, click on the Settings tab at the top of the landing page editor to add some basic page information for search engines and browsers.

First, you’ll see your internal page name. This will be populated upon creation, but if you ever need to readjust your page’s internal name, you can edit it here. Again, this is an internal name for your reference only, and your website visitors will not be able to see it.

Next, there’s the page title. This is the phrase that appears in the tab at the top of your web browser when the page loads and is visible to your website visitors once the page is published.

Next is the page URL. This is the URL for your page and appears in the URL bar within a browser when visitors navigate to this page. This field is editable, and while users typically base the URL off the page title, you can customise your URL to fit your needs.

The meta description option is next. The content you enter in this field will appear in search results below the page title. A good meta description will drive search engine traffic to your page, so be descriptive, but keep it under 300 characters.

The campaign option helps you quickly associate your landing page to a HubSpot campaign. You can also click Add New to create a new campaign.

You can choose a featured image to be used as a thumbnail when sharing your landing pages on social media. To do so, click Browse Images to open a sidebar menu where you can select a previously uploaded image as your featured image. Alternatively, click Upload to upload an image from your computer to use as the featured image. Once you've finished entering the content for your landing page, the last step is to publish it by clicking Publish in the upper right-hand corner.
